The Health Department offers many services to the community. Some of the additional services that we offer to you and your family are listed below.

bulletScreening & Testing---We provide screenings for high blood pressure, cholesterol and diabetes. We also offer counseling on daily health issues such as diet, exercise, disease understanding & management.

bulletGrief Counseling - Counseling for the parents of a child who died before their 18th birthday.

Are you a female? Then you need to read this…

The Bullitt County Health Department wants you to know of the Kentucky Women’s Cancer Screening Program (KWCSP). The program provides free of low-cost mammograms and Pap tests through the health department in every county. These services are available every year for women age 21-64 that do not have health insurance to cover the cost. If you are age 20 or under, call you local health department to find out what services are available for you.

The program, part of CDC’s National Breast and Cervical Cancer Early Detection Program, also provides diagnostic services and, if cancer or pre-cancer is found, treatment services are available. For more information, call the Bullitt County Health Department at 543-2415 or 955-7837.

What screening test do you need?

If you are age 18 or older OR you are sexually active, you need a yearly:

--Breast exam by a health professional

·     --Pap test and pelvic exam

·     --Instruction in breast self-exam.

If you are age 40 or older you need a yearly:

·      --Breast exam by a health professional

·      --Pap test and pelvic exam

·      --Mammogram
